Precision “Direct-Mount” Installation on Stucco
The Challenge
Alkaline Soulutions in Vista, CA required a storefront sign that felt completely integrated into the building’s architecture. They wanted to avoid the visible hardware of raceways and the “floating” gaps of standoff mounts. The goal was a clean, solid look where the letters appear to extend naturally from the facade.
The Solution: Direct Flush Mounting
Innovative Sign Systems executed a Direct Flush Mount installation. This technique requires high-precision drilling, as the letters are pulled tight against the textured stucco surface. Unlike standoff mounts which can hide wall imperfections, a direct flush mount leaves no room for error. We utilized a custom mounting pattern to ensure every letter sat perfectly flat and level against the uneven texture, creating a seamless, high-end finish with no visible gaps or hardware.
Technical Specifications
We utilized a dual-color return strategy to maximize readability and brand accuracy:
| Feature | Specification | Why It Matters |
| Sign Type | Front-Lit LED Channel Letters | Maximum brightness for 24/7 highway visibility. |
| Mounting | Direct Flush (No Standoffs) | Creates a solid, integrated look with zero gap between the sign and the wall. |
| Text Returns | White Aluminum Returns | Reflects maximum light, making the company name appear bolder and cleaner. |
| Logo Returns | Black Aluminum Returns | Adds high contrast to the graphic embellishments, separating them visually from the text. |
| Wiring | Remote Power Supply | All wiring runs through the wall to a hidden power supply (no exterior conduit). |
Fabrication & Installation
Because there is no raceway to hide the wiring, our install team utilized behind-the-wall access (attic/ceiling grid) to connect the low-voltage wiring. This “remote mount” method is the most labor-intensive but results in the cleanest possible curb appeal for the client.
