Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our sign process, types of signs, permitting, installation, and service area.

Process & Permitting

What is your process for creating a custom sign?

Our full-service process ensures a smooth project from start to finish. It typically involves: 1) Consultation & Site Survey, 2) Design & Engineering, 3) Permitting, 4) Fabrication, and 5) Professional Installation.

Do I need a permit for my business sign?

Yes, most exterior business signs require a permit from your city (e.g., Escondido, San Marcos, Vista). We handle the entire permitting process for you, including preparing all necessary drawings and engineering calculations.

How long does it take to get a sign made?

Timelines vary by sign type and city permitting speeds. Simple non-illuminated signs can take a few weeks. Complex projects like monument signs or channel letters may take 6-8 weeks or more due to engineering and permit approvals. We provide a detailed timeline with every proposal.

Licensing & Services

Are you a licensed sign contractor?

Yes, we hold a C-45 Electrical Sign Contractor License (CA #1068491). This is legally required in California for installing any type of fixed signage. Hiring an unlicensed installer can expose you to significant liability and fines.

What does “UL 48 Certified” mean?

UL 48 is the national safety standard for electric signs. As a UL-Listed fabricator, our illuminated signs meet rigorous electrical safety requirements. Most cities require a UL label for final inspection on lighted signs; without it, your sign may be rejected.

What areas do you serve?

Our primary service area is North County San Diego (Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, Poway). We also serve Greater San Diego County, Riverside County (Temecula Valley), and South Orange County for larger projects.

Do you offer sign repair and maintenance?

Yes. We provide comprehensive sign repair services, including LED retrofits for older neon signs, replacing damaged acrylic faces, and storm damage repair.

Do you offer sign installation near me?

Yes, we provide professional sign installation services throughout our core North County San Diego service area and our expanded reach into Greater San Diego, Riverside, and Orange Counties.
