Custom Aluminum Wayfinding: Precision Monument for The Pointe at Marbrisa
A case study in “right-sized” architectural signage designed for durability and clear navigation in Carlsbad, CA.

The Challenge
Directing traffic effectively through a large complex requires more than just arrows; it requires signage that is both highly visible and built to withstand the elements. The team at The Pointe at Marbrisa needed a compact wayfinding solution that felt substantial but fit into specific landscaped areas without overwhelming the environment.
The Solution
Based on the customer’s design requirements and intent drawings, Innovative Sign Systems manufactured and installed a series of small-scale aluminum monument signs. We focused on a “right-sized” approach: compact enough for easy placement in planters, yet built with the structural presence of a full-scale entry monument.
Fabrication Detail: Why Aluminum?

- Corrosion Resistance: Heavy-gauge aluminum was selected for its natural resistance to rust, critical for coastal San Diego weather.
- Custom Geometries: Using our in-house CNC capabilities, we matched the customer’s design intent drawings precisely, including the radius top cap and multi-tier base.
- Architectural Finish: The sign features a textured finish to match the surrounding masonry, paired with clean typographic contrast for maximum legibility.

By choosing aluminum over standard plastics or wood, the client received a low-maintenance asset that maintains a premium finish. This project demonstrates how wayfinding monuments can enhance property value while solving complex navigational issues.
